So my wife and I have a habit of celebrating each milestone in our relationship. We have fun with it. Ya, people make fun of us, but hey, each little milestone is something to look back on and just another time to think about each other. If nothing else, it’s just a good excuse to go out, take a trip, or do something special. For our 6 month anniversary we headed to one of our favorite spots, Seattle. Seattle is a place where we go to relax, have fun, and not think about the other things we should be doing. It’s a place where we went the first week we met, a place that helped establish our relationship. While each time we go to Seattle is similar, it is so different. Compared to the first time we went, we are now married, know each other really well, have our “usual” spots, and even have our puppy Bella to come with us. This trip was much like the rest in the aspect that we ate at some of the same restaurants that we normally do, went the same places, and walked the same streets. It’s so much different in the fact that we can guess what the other is thinking or wants to do or just even share a quiet moment where a smile is all the conversation needed. It’s moments and times like these that make you look back and smile, smile with the deepest feeling of love, one that makes your heart flutter like the first time you met.
With that, here are a few photos from our trip :)
P.S. I love high contrast black and white photos, especially in the winter
One of my favorite things about fall is the wonderful fall colors. And my favorite color is orange. Where is the best place to find lots of orange color to shoot? The Pumpkin Patch. It’s kind of a must-do-thing for my wife and I to get pumpkins for Halloween, so a few weeks back Christina and I visited Sauvie Island with our pup where we each got to pick out our pumpin. And, yes, the pup got a pumpkin too. While there, we also embarked on a muddy mission through the Corn Maize, it was a blast! Here’s a couple shots from our day:
These two are a spectacular couple. Plain and simple. Upon first meeting these two, I could see their personalities shine through their smiles. I love Portland and the creatives that Portland encompasses. Lisa and Hunter are two of them. Their ideas brought out through their handmade decorations and simplistic goodness that reflects Portland. These two exchanged vows atop the beautiful Mt Tabor and celebrated with family and friends downtown at The Cleaners. This rad wedding was shot with Aaron Courter for Ashley Forrette.
What’s better than getting married and celebrating with family and friends? Getting married on a beautiful day at the beach and celebrating with family and friends. Brandon and Stephanie had an amazing wedding filled with love, laughs, and lots of beer. What’s even better is Brandon made some of the brews himself as favors. Um, Ya. Rad. Congrats to the super cute couple! I captured this beautiful day with the amazing Lisa Teso in Depoe Bay, OR
Carrie and Brian are cool. They are creative. They are rad. Their wedding was nothing less then awesome. When I was invited to photograph their wedding I knew I was in for a treat. It’s such a great feeling to see two people share their love with each other, and Carrie and Brian did just that. They also worked hard to perfect every detail of their day and it showed through to everyone. From the unique location to the cake Carrie made herself, their wedding was wonderful. Congrats Carrie and Brian, I wish you many happy years ahead!
So, I now decided to blog. Just that. I have been wanting to blog for a few years now. Why? I have thoughts and opinions. I have visions. I take pictures. And, sometimes I want so share (not always, lol, jk). Not sure why it has taken this long to get the ball rolling, but here it goes.
My point for blogging? To share. Maybe someday someone will find one of my posts as interesting as I have many of the several thousand that I’ve read. I intend to use my blog to share photos that I take. Share stories that I capture. Make a different means of delivery to those I work with. Along with sharing what I have, I hope for my blog to be a place that I can get feedback and interact with others.
So, with that, I hope that you check back, see what I share. And if you enjoy it, let me know, comment, email me.
